Conference Registration

You may register for SAS2000 on-line and pay with a credit card. Or, you may print, complete, and mail the registration form with payment by bank check, bank wire transfer, or credit card.

Before you register, please read the following information.

Conference Registration: SAS2000 is scheduled to run from 2:00pm (14h00), Thursday, June 29, to 5:00pm (17h00), Saturday, July 1. Your registration fee pays for the meeting sessions, coffee breaks, a copy of the proceedings, and evening meals on June 29 (reception buffet) and June 30 (banquet). Lunches on June 30 and July 1 are not included in the registration fee, but they are included in the on-campus accommodation package (or can be easily purchased on-campus), as described below.

The ``student'' registration fee excludes the reception buffet and the banquet.

June 1 is the deadline for the early registration fee. If your registration is received after that date, you will be charged the late registration fee.

You should also consider registering for these related meetings:

LICS2000: IEEE Logic in Computer Science Conference
PCC2000: Tutorial Workshop on Proof-Carrying Code

On-Campus Accommodation: The University of California, Santa Barbara, Conference Office has reserved inexpensive accommodation in student housing on-campus, next to the meeting hall (and the beach). If you choose to stay on campus, you must purchase the ``accommodation package,'' which gives you

You can reserve a single (one-person) or double (two-person) room. If you reserve a double room, you must indicate with whom you will share the room. Your payment for a double room buys the room and meals for the two of you.

If you reserve an on-campus room, please indicate your ``gender'' (male or female). This helps the Conference Office reserve your room on the appropriate floor of the building. If your spouse is accompanying you to SAS, the two of you are of course welcome to share a double room! If this is the case, indicate your gender on the form, anyway, and the Registration Office will ensure that you and your spouse are assigned a room on the floor with other couples.

The meals in the accommodation package are served, ``cafeteria style,'' at the UCSB Dining Commons. Vegetarian choices are served at every meal.

If you arrive one day early for SAS, you may reserve additionally an on-campus room for the night of June 28. The reservation includes breakfast the following morning. (Lunch on Thursday, June 29, can be found at the UCSB Dining Commons. Lunch tickets can be purchased at the SAS Registration Table or at the door of the Dining Commons. Also, if you arrive early on the 28th and you plan to be hungry, you can purchase a ticket for the end-of-LICS-pre-SAS buffet the evening of the 28th; order a ticket on the registration form.)

If you are also attending LICS, please ensure that you have reserved accommodation for every night of your stay; see the LICS Registration page to reserve accommodation for LICS. The LICS ``Main Program'' accommodation package gives you lodging for Sunday (25 June) through Wednesday (June 28) nights. This package mates with the SAS accommodation package.

On-campus housing is recommended because it is next to the meeting hall and it is only a few steps from the lagoon and the beach. (Also, the UCSB Conference Office will severely penalize SAS financially if too few participants stay on-campus! Please stay on-campus if possible.) Alas, nothing is perfect in this world: The on-campus rooms do not have personal bathrooms, but each floor has ample shared toilet and bath facilities. Also, on-campus housing is not available for families with children---see below about off-campus accommodation.

You may purchase on-campus accommodation on the registration form.

Off-Campus Accommodation: If you do not wish to stay on campus, you can reserve a hotel room in Santa Barbara; you can find information here. If you stay in a hotel, you will require an automobile to travel from your hotel to the conference site. You must also purchase a parking permit to park your car on-campus. You may purchase the parking permit on the registration form.

If you stay at a hotel, you can eat lunches on June 30 and July 1 at the UCSB Dining Commons. (This is where the other SAS participants will dine.) Lunch tickets can be purchased at the SAS Registration Table or at the door of the Dining Commons.

Special Needs: The conference organizers and the UCSB Conference Office will make appropriate efforts to accommodate participants with special needs; please indicate such needs on the registration form.

Questions: General questions about registration and local arrangements can be directed to the Conference Chair, David Schmidt, at schmidt@cis.ksu.edu. Please note that Schmidt will be unable to answer email during the periods April 30-May 3 and May 20-May 31, and queries sent during that time will be answered as soon as possible thereafter.

Questions about the registration form and payment of fees can be directed to Schmidt or to the Conference Office at Kansas State University: +1-785-532-5566.
